Just Another Ambient Monday — Streams Of Consciousness, RITUAL / HABIT / CEREMONY, Justin Walter

Streams of Consciousness is the title of this project and way on the nose based on the contents of 231908, which was released in late August. Streams of Consciousness, referencing the Bandcamp bio, is a “Dirk Serries’ homage and return to the pure harmonic sonic dwellings.” Dirk Serries is an artist who specializes in experimental, ambient, and drone. Serries has multiple bands and projects to his name and also puts out music via his New Wave Of Jazz label.

231908 is available to purchase digitally via Bandcamp.

RITUAL / HABIT / CEREMONY is yet another other-than-OSEES sidepiece for John Dwyer that follows his other heavy roster and jammy projects Bent Arcana and Gong Splat. “Memory Mirror Overfloweth” was made available online at August’s end, synth-conjured and improvised series of bleepity bleeps, viola, hand drums, and undulating collisions of multilayered tones providing a backdrop for manipulated vocals and recited poetry. Evocative of The Sunburned Hand Of The Man.

This eponymous LP is already sold out at Bandcamp, but available to purchase digitally. Proper release date is 10/13/23 via Castle Face Records.

The title track for Justin Walter’s upcoming third album Destroyer has surfaced today. Performed with an EVI (Electronic Valve Instrument), “Destroyer” offers much for the ears to distill, a rewarding headphone listen that’s calming in spite of the sharp tonal strokes that interrupt its otherwise gentle pulse.

Destroyer is available for pre-order at Bandcamp and will release via kranky on 10/13/23.

Sincerely,
Letters From A Tapehead
